This ongoing project was created to collect information about these digital Black History projects in order to benefit historians, genealogists, and family historians who are researching the lives of Black individuals and families.

Behind the Veil Oral History Project Contains recorded oral history interviews with over 1000 elderly Black southerners from the 1890s to 1950s. Interviews discuss various personal stories and experiences in the South during the late-19th to the mid-20th centuries. This is the largest collection of Jim Crow oral histories in the world.
